Professor Ursula King
An internationally renowned scholar of spirituality, women and religion,
gender studies, interfaith dialogue, modern Hinduism, and Christian
mysticism, Ursula King is Professor Emerita of Theology and Religious
Studies at the University of Bristol. She has extensive experience
in the developing world. When studying in Delhi in 1969, Dr. King
witnessed first hand how the education of women can transform their
prospects in cultures dominated by men. Her publications include works
like Women and Spirituality: Voices of Protest and Promise and
Feminist Theology from the Third World.
Professor Patricia Pinsent
Pat is a Principal Lecturer and Senior Research Fellow at Roehampton
University. She has extensive experience of tutorship and dissertation
supervision in distance learning at the Civil Service Correspondence
College, the Open University and Roehampton University. She wrote
and edited many books on childrens literature, including Childrens
Literature and the Politics of Equality, and East
meets West in Childrens Literature.
Dr. Robert McCormick
Joanna Dixon, MA
Qualifications: Diploma in Business Studies,
Certificate in Computer Programming, MA in Social Science.
Born in England, Jo's early life was spent in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe)
and South Africa where she earned a diploma in business studies, a
computer programming certificate and a BA in Social Science. Jo has
travelled extensively around the world. With her executive husband,
she has lived in Cape Town, London, Brussels and Athens. She is the
mother of three children. Her oldest son is currently completing a
PhD at Oxford.
Active in her community, Jo is one of the founding members of Catherine
of Siena Virtual College. She continues to serve the College in an
official capacity as one of its Trustees. Her continuing commitment
to the project is demonstrated in her volunteer contribution of time
working in our Permissions Department and as the editor our periodic
newsletter.
Pamela Wearing
Qualifications: Teacher's Diploma and Diploma in Pastoral Theology.
Pam is a teacher who studied at Birbeck and Heythrop Colleges (Diploma
Pastoral Theology). During her career, she served as Union Representative
of the National Union of Teachers. She has been Senior Vice President
of the Newman Association and is presently Treasurer of St. Joan's
International Alliance. Pam brings with her a wide pastoral experience.
She served as Chair of her Pastoral Council for six years and currently
does chaplaincy work at Northwick Park Hospital. She also serves as
a Eucharistic Minister and Reader in her faith community.
