Selected Accomplishments

Spearheaded the first Shelby County Coalition to address the challenge of homelessness.  Helped to build a community-wide partnership of politicians, commissioners, city officials, the business community, law enforcement officials, judges, social service agency directors, housing authorities, churches, education officials, and interested citizens.

Established the first transitional housing program in Shelby County, Ohio.

Increased income at domestic violence prevention agency by more than 350% through the acquisition of new sources of revenue at the federal, state, and local level.

Launched first coalition to coordinate a county-wide response to intervene and reduce domestic violence.

Played key role the first diversity task force bringing key players to the table to address sensitive issues such as racial profiling, immigration, and discrimination. 

Organized and raised funds to construct the first public library in Russia, Ohio.

Directs support programming for at-risk youth seeking educational preparation, life skills, vocational training, leadership development, and employment.  

Builds community partnerships and strategic alliances supporting at-risk youth through support services, education, training, and adult mentoring.

Directed Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Kentucky Seniors Saving Medicare Program.

Recruited new volunteers and originated new high impact sites mentoring at-risk youth, restoring the environment, and assisting low income families with basic necessities.

Implemented new program coordinating large scale community efforts to support efforts to build international peace and oppose war, address race relations, end hate crimes, eliminate environmental racism, promote civil liberties, and other interconnected social justice issues.  Conducted highly successful humanitarian aid campaign.
