I always get nervous when requesting money. I'm going to have to overcome this because Catherine College cannot continue for even another day without some income. We have received an enormous amount of donated services; yet, space rental, internet server rentals, and professional services cost money. Moreover, we are determined to do justice and to remunerate our professional teachers and dedicated facilitators as they deserve.

Normally a college just charges "tuition," and no one blinks an eye. Exchanging money, however, is just our formalized way of expressing gratitude for services rendered. Thus, we could say, "Your rendering us a service in offering feedback; yet, we're letting you in on an innovative learning experience that may change your life. So, in your case, we've reduced the tuition to about a fourth of what we would expect to change."

In our case, however, there is still another consideration. We are determined to make our courses available to women who may be working in third-world sweatshops for less than a dollar/euro per hour. Thus, for this to be possible, those who have greater resources might willingly donate more such that those women who have so little will not find our services out of reach.

We haven't formulated an ironclad policy as yet. Tell us honestly what you think.

Peace/Pax/Salem,

Deb and Aaron
