Comments:

The first course that I did was 'Women's Ministries according to the Scriptures'. I must mention it was a fabulous treat and it seemed so much like an appetizer that it seemed natural that I chose to go for the main course. I'd say every woman MUST do this course. Every Church and College (both secular and theological) MUST avail of this innovative learning system. Simply Fabulous!!

6/19/2011 2:45 AM

Since I had some experience of working for justice issues I was interested on this topic.

6/15/2011 11:27 AM

I wanted to find out Catholic perspectives on the subject .

6/12/2011 9:11 AM

I received an invitation to take the course. It was good timing since I was already wanting to study Islam to understand this culture better and understand how to live along side my Muslim sisters and brothers.

6/11/2011 12:31 AM

issues and topics, skills and personal growth all areas are important to me.

6/10/2011 12:00 AM

Making me mission ready.

#3 What was the most enjoyable activity in this course? What contributed most to my learning in this course?

The field work was most interesting and it contributed most.

9/23/2011 10:19 AM

I would like to specify to areas- one being the field work, the other being lesson 7 (I'm not sure of the number) which encouraged us to take a hunch, read material and then come back and rectify our hunches. I found this module most effective and interesting for learning and cognitive activity.

9/22/2011 10:47 PM

The most enjoyable activity was the field work! I enjoyed learning about the flower lady and her daughter’s story and how they broke free from the restrictions of a male dominated society and established themselves as independent entrepreneurs. The reading materials and the reflection questions contributed significantly to my learning. However the chatroom session accelerated my learning further and i thoroughly enjoyed it!!

9/22/2011 10:10 PM

the live chatroom. I enjoyed listening and learning from women from a different cultural background.

9/14/2011 8:21 AM

The chat sessions every Friday, was something I looked forward to. Interacting and learning from my co learners and the exchange of ideas and personal experiences made it richer. The sharing with Virginia, my moderator, was an invaluable experience. Being able to share in a climate of acceptance, learn from someone with more experience and without fear of ridicule, made the whole course even more special.

9/13/2011 8:36 AM

My personal reflection since I was unable to use the chatroom.  Reasons: Eye problems; could not get open at times.

9/7/2011 10:40 PM

Since I am working with group. I enjoyed day by day dealing according to the course.  It was my most enjoyable activity in this course.

9/6/2011 11:19 PM

The most enjoyable activity was the online discussions which were so enriching. I got to learn a lot from my co-learners and also share my personal experiences.

8/26/2011 8:25 AM

I felt like I was in a spiritual candy store feasting on all the wonderful research that had been done on the issue. Having our moderator/technician/registrar and fellow learners interact with one another about these issues was inspiring and motivating. I felt I grew in knowledge and skill in dealing with difficult issues with people holding a diversity of viewpoints.

8/20/2011 2:46 PM

chat room sharing.

8/18/2011 10:02 AM

Reading and Learning, Reflecting, sharing and posting my own reflections.

8/17/2011 2:48 AM

Field work was not applicable to this course. As usual, the chatrooms were so enjoyable -- I always enjoy meeting the other participants.

8/14/2011 11:07 AM

I enjoyed the way both the participants and the co-ordinator gave responses to my simple thoughts. the respectful way of approach of the participants and I could do some thing with an international community

8/11/2011 9:22 AM

the most enjoyable activity was my interaction with my co learners and the exchange of ideas in the chat sessions and the read backlines. the best contribution is to change my blind ideas of the priests in the world around me and hear the stories of the victims who are abused.

8/11/2011 5:20 AM

The most enjoyable thing was being involved actively in the chatroom with my co-learners and the discussions followed. The lessons provided were also very much useful to get more awareness about the issue.

8/10/2011 11:24 PM

reading the literature and reflecting was most enjoyable.

7/11/2011 10:33 AM

The chats!!

7/4/2011 4:09 AM

sharing in the learning circle, empowering and have many new paradigm more strengthen me and make me confidence and enjoy my life as a religious

6/21/2011 9:44 AM

To speak myself without any inhibitions or any fears, The best part is the idea that we are sharing among trusted friends. I like the concept that it's ok if we make mistakes but we learn from each other through the wonderful sharing by contributing to the knowledge pool created by the contribution of each and every member in the group. A fabulous place to learn and unlearn!! The chat sessions are like the icing on the cake!! Marvelous concept in Action!! :-)

6/19/2011 2:50 AM

sharing

6/15/2011 1:38 PM

I enjoyed selecting my own PC and introducing the person to my learning circle. That activity was very interesting and informative.

6/15/2011 11:31 AM

The richness and accuracy of the content over a wide historical scope. I am learning exactly what I need to know and have needed to know for a long time

6/15/2011 2:24 AM

Recieving loving and supporting e-mails. I have studied in a university class, but somehow this was more intimate . Also because people have time to consider what they want to say there contributions are the richer. The course is a unique way of sharing knowledge and experience and was wonderful.

6/12/2011 9:13 AM

I have found this kind of online learning rather hit and miss. Because of the lack of participation, I found my own participation fall off as time went on. I gained some knowledge of Islam through my participation in answering questions. I suppose that turned out to be the most valuable part of this course.

6/11/2011 12:37 AM

The most enjoyable activity for me is interaction with other members of my learning circle

6/10/2011 9:03 PM

Watching videos, listing to audio tapes, reading at my own pace.

6/10/2011 9:42 AM

Comments:

I had a great experience throughout the course. Both Dr. Aaron and Suparna Ma'am were very helpful and understanding during the entire course. They listened to my problems and excused me for missing a class when they thought appropriate and also told me that i was slipping in the sense i was prioritizing everything else before. On the whole i had a very interactive session with both the tutors and i thoroughly enjoyed myself and learnt alot!!

9/22/2011 10:16 PM

I recall the first few chat sessions, when I had problems with my server/ computer and even the lap top I was using as a stand in; I appreciate the patience and the help extended to assist with advice, to get them up and working.

9/13/2011 2:09 PM

My prior experience with online courses has been in impersonal, isolating, 'lone wolf' individual study. It was a breath of fresh air to have a human being leading and interacting with the group in a warm and encouraging way.

8/20/2011 2:58 PM

We sometimes the course seem to be only sided. only attcking church and priest. i feel it wolde be good to have faith and facts. both way balanced.

8/18/2011 10:09 AM

Whenever I was in Chat room I appriciated Anne's comments and trying to make us go deeper into the issue.

Comments:

It was a pleasure to be able to share with others, who although strangers at the start became a close knit community in a way, and shared what each truly felt from their hearts. The chat room session is a great way to learn, empathise, garner strength and fortitude, especially for those who are going through a difficult time in their lives. They know that they are not alone, but have others like themselves from whom to learn, who care and understand and reach out in solidarity to one another.

9/13/2011 2:18 PM

Hope to enter into another course God willing

9/7/2011 10:45 PM

I'm not sure if a question will come up on this issue, but I found that the presence of men in the course, particularly of some men who had a really difficult time in accepting the fact that CSA [Clerical Sex Abuse] of adult women happens and that women are generally not lying when making complaints to cause me to share less than I might have had we had a class composition of women (and possibly men) who believe in the problem and have a truly open heart to listen to the truth, as painful as that truth may be to hear. I think it would have been very difficult if not impossible for some women CSA victims to hear some of the comments shared and not feel further victimized.

8/20/2011 3:03 PM

sorry because of my limitation in speaking English so I'm poor to speak and give my opinion but I learn more

6/21/2011 9:52 AM

The combination of us for learning but also in the skills and knowledge we brought was particularly effective for learning

6/15/2011 2:29 AM

For me, interaction with the learning circle is the very best part of my experience with Catherine College
