Most of the persons who are involved in our Virtual
College at present give their time and services on either a totally
free basis or at a very much reduced cost. This applies to our highly
trained academic personnel as much as to the typists, scanners, researchers
and secretaries who quietly work in the background. We truly area
network of volunteers.
But though our salary bill is at a minimum, we cannot
avoid paying the rent for small office premises, web provider expenses,
insurances, gas, electricity, water, building repairs, council tax,
etc. We incur overheads such as telephone, postage stationery, photocopying,
scanning, computer maintenance, software licenses, professional fees,
and so on.
Other Colleges often recover their expenses by charging
fees. We charge fees from students who can afford to pay them, but
since Catherine of Siena College aims to help especially the women
who are most in need: our sisters in far way countries who live on
small incomes and can rely on little local support, we cannot ever
hope to make our enterprise self-supporting by imposing commercial
fees and charges.
We founded charitable trusts to enable us to give
scholarships to deserving individuals: the
Catherine of Siena Educational Trust (UK) and the
Housetop Trust for Women's Ministries (USA). These Trusts need
your financial support in order to keep our Virtual College going.
